NEW environmental improvements for 2010!

Dodge Ridge recently installed six new Dyson Airblade hand driers in the Creekside Lodge restrooms. Installation of these hand driers will reduce our consumption of paper towels by approximately 400 rolls this season - reducing the quantity of paper goods consumed, eliminating transportation of the paper towels and reducing the amount of garbage produced by our operation. In addition, this will also improve overall hygiene and safety in our restrooms.

Support wind energy - SKI GREEN for the 2010 winter season!

Dodge Ridge encourages guests and employees to support renewable energy. Dodge Ridge has partnered with Bonneville Environmental Foundation to give guests and employees the option to ski green. A guest or employee can directly reduce their carbon dioxide footprint by purchasing a SkiGreen Tag for $2.00. Each SkiGreen Tag has two stickers that can be placed on your lift ticket, helmet, skis, board, or car. Each tag purchase represents enough wind energy to offset the global warming pollution generated from driving an average around 150 miles. All funds collected go directly towards wind energy output.

PG&E Climatesmart

Through the PG&E program Climatesmart 100% of Dodge's electricity usage is offset. During 2009, Dodge Ridge voluntarily contributed $2,495.13 toward the ClimateSmart program.

Reduce - Reuse - Recycle

Approximately 50% of the garbage produced at Dodge Ridge is recycled. Recycle bins for paper, glass and plastic are located in our restaurant and cafe areas, outdoor dining areas and in the main plaza. Further environmental choices include using energy saving lights, zero waste Dyson hand dryers in the new Family Lodge, and utilizing environmentally friendly spoons and forks in the restaurants.
