Tuolumne County Ambulance operations manager Bill Caldera will honor Dodge Ridge Ski Patrol for assisting with two simultaneous cardiac arrests.
What Happened?
On January 19th, 2008 Dodge Ridge Ski Patrol was faced with two simultaneous cardiac arrests at the resort. Initially, a 911 call was made for the first patient who went in to sudden cardiac arrest on the remote back side of the resort called Boulder Canyon. Dodge Ridge Ski Patrol members provided basic life support care for this patient including CPR and automatic external defibrillator use. While packaging and transporting this patient to the main lodge, a second patient went in to cardiac arrest near the lodge in the area of the rope tow.
